Where did you source them from? I'm planning on the same thing because the elimination of the one sloppy joint really does make all the difference.

I recently did the turbo tie-rod upgrade and found a significant improvement in the steering feel. When we looked over the old tie rods, they were definateky worn....

Pelican also sells them. You need a special tool to remove the old ones but I used the pipe wrench in the picture and it worked fine. Also need a 32mm slim wrench to put on the turbos. Definitely - you can tell the threaded studs are a lot longer on the turbos.

What do people do about the rubber boot? Mine don't fit right with my "twin turbos" and I think water gets in there

I didn't. Caught major flack for it on here. Consulted with a number of 914 specialists and they said I didn't have to and they had run turbos without them in the past on the street and track with no issues. With the washers, the fit was all off. So I left them off. Only concern was being careful when installing to not crank them down so hard as to damage the rack.

Instead of ordering a thin 32mm you could just grind down a cheap 1 1/4 from harbor freight.

Genuine Lemfoerder can be as cheap as ~$140 so it really doesn't make sense to cheap out for the Off-brand stuff.

Yeah definitely want the Lemfoerder.

Finished up my tie rods, new sway bar bushings, torsion bar adjustments, and did a home DIY alignment with a ruler and strings. Drove the car and seems to handle better and no shakes at speed. So I did something right!

Will find out further tomorrow at an autocross...

I fell for it too
But I can add I did the same upgrade last spring. I did use the washers, and added the bump steer spacers too. So more wobble great feel and also went with the Lemforder from PP.
