Thanks so much! I really needed that fix!

I saw a few raindrops in one photo, but otherwise it looks like good weather. I'm in Phoenix this weekend where it turned dark about 4 p.m. and we had very windy conditions and a pretty good amount of rain. I'm hoping that you all have had good weather for the events.

Have fun and beerchug.gif for all of us poor slobs who couldn't come this year!

Yeah....ended up being a nice day....fun twisties.....I ran a pass on a 968 at about 80+ and braked hard when I saw a car up ahead parked the wrong way on the side of the road...ended up being a Sheriff......guess I brought it dwon real gud as he just smiled when I passed.

SLITS wasn't so lucky...he got tagged. That ticket is going to be an expensive one......dunno what he was written for....ain't gonna say.

When we passed the Rock Store there was a whole bunch 911s, 912s and 356s on the side of the road.....lot's of bikes, got into the Paramount Ranch and started set up.

The Ranger staff were real nice to us.....one even got on stage and gave a history lesson on the site.

if someone drove from NYC to Savannah, SC, would it be a long way?
CA is a long, skinny state that would take up most of the Eastern Seaboard if it were on the other side of the country.

a 1000-mi trip in a 914 is a long trip, no matter how many states it traverses.

1000 miles, i dont want to hear it my car is at 3200 total with 2600 being driving. thanks to 914rs i got to ride for a day with the car on a trailer and could zone out with out killing myself or teri.

Props to Rick / Alien, AFAIK furthest travelled from Mn. I briefly met with him on Sat at Paramount Ranch--clean V8 set up rolleyes.gif
The old race track there was built in 1956 and shut down in '57. According to the ranger it was designed by Ken Miles, who laid out the course in his VW Beetle. It is 2 miles long and claimed 2 drivers lives. Dan Gurney also drove a Ferrari there . The track is very much visible today--but a hiking path.
Here's the short list of races there from my archives:
Aug. 18/19 1956-H. Jones Mercedes 300 sl , dnf
Richie Ginther Porsche 550 1st place; J. McAfee Porsche 550 , 2nd; Richie Ginther Porsche 550 1st place ; J. McAfee Porsche 550 dnf; Richie Ginther 550 3rd pl.(in class)

Nov. 18, 1956 -Ken Miles 1st place (2 events) Cooper/ Porsche, von Neuman Ferrari 750Monza 4th place.

Mar. 9/10, 1957- Ken Miles Porsche 550, 2nd pl; Levy (ladies class) Porsche 550 1st pl; Ken Miles Porsche 550 2nd pl.

And the last go around, June 15/16, 1957,
H. Jones Mercedes 300sl 4th pl ; Ken Miles Porsche 550 1st pl ; H. Jones dnf ; Ken Miles 1st disqualified ; and Wheeler/ von Neuman Ferrari 500 tr 7th pl.
Seems like the mid engined 550 Pcar ruled the track ! The WCC '05 was held on historical grounds laugh.gif blink.gif

I just got back. had to miss the track day since we couldn't get a sitter for the whole weekend. Didn't bring my car since i didn't get a chance to test the new brakes or get it aligned. sad2.gif

Brought the wife along and she is all excited about going next year. She want's to bring the girls and make it a road trip. smilie_pokal.gif

I'll never remember all the names, so, it was great to meet everyone!!

I deemed Joe Sharp's RV "Neverland" drunk.gif since the Tequila was flowing and the memories for most in attendance will be quite hazy the next day. The wife and i are not drinkers, so, we stayed and tried to maintain conversations chatsmiley.gif even though the language seemed to be changing rapidly from English to "Tequilaese"

I think Aaron had a little too much Jesus Juice since he was I looking a bit pale and icon8.gif Sat. Morning.

I gave my shots to Brando drunk.gif

Can't wait for the pics. i'm a dumb ass and forgot my camera headbang.gif

didja have to bring scott some gas to get to the track? lol2.gif

jesus juice eh? dont tell anyone unsure.gif biggrin.gif

Well, I be home now. What a trip. Car runs great all the way from Bakersfield to Camarillo then decides to take a crap in the middle of freaking nowhere with NO cell service on the way to Paramount Ranch. Find a house, ask to use the phone and 2 1/2 hours later we are being towed back to Camarillo. headbang.gif What a bitch.

Still, a great time.

This was a park with armed park rangers, so NO. sad.gif

Someone planned to drive it but it is not fully paved and blocked not far from the ranch...
