Ill be watching. Too bad it doesn't rain in the desert. Hard to beat the last race watching Max in the rain.

F1 live broadcast at 7am est.
Max, he's only 18 and has no sense of danger, thus he out drives almost everyone. Give him a few years and a few bad crashes and he's going to come to his senses. Just look at NASCAR...same... Lewis ...all the way.

Anyone have a favorite F1 website with updates and tech info?

I use the F1 application. Its pretty cool.

Since we are finally discussing F1 and not 101% 914.
Here's my simple observation:

The best drivers compete in F 1..some retire to road racing scene- like the new Porsche Factory driver for the Lemans 24.

They race rain or shine...no stopping the race like majority of the races in the US.

Multi multi million dollars efforts.

Races are won and lost in thousands of a second...tire changes in 2.3 seconds

Worldwide tour...
I'm just happy that they come to Austin TX for an event.

I can think of Graham and Damon Hill, Mario and Michael, any other father-son F1 competitors ?
Near champions ?

Jacques and Gilles Villeneuve

Hans-Joachim and Hans Stuck

David and Sir Jack Brabham

Nelson jr. and Nelson Piquet

Jos Verstappen was never a near champion but, just maybe, his little boy Max might be.

Posted by: daytona Nov 26 2016, 06:35 PM

Wilson Fittipaldi and son Christian Fittipaldi.

Posted by: daytona Nov 26 2016, 06:40 PM

Does Mark Donohue and son David Donohue count?
Mark did drive in F1.

Posted by: daytona Nov 26 2016, 06:50 PM

A few more,
Alain Prost and son Nickolas Prost.
Derek Bell and his son.
Dr. Jonathan Palmer and Joylan Palmer.
Derek Daily and Connor Daily.

Unless Nico finishes lower than 3rd, he'll still be champ... Hamilton has been on fire and driving unbelievably well though so unless Red Bull can upset the balance, Nico will be the man tomorrow!

I miss the eloquent, in-depth observations we used to get from
Kimi...
