914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Price Check NOS Early Seat Belts

Posted by: Mike Fitton Dec 17 2016, 01:46 PM

These are going to be for sale wants I figure out what they are worth. Checked everywhere, here, Ebay, Pelican couldn't find any NOS seat belts for sale or that have sold recently. What do you guys think, has all the attaching hardware and even the holsters that get attached to the threshold. Labels are dated 1973 but could be changed out for earlier dates.

Dang Mike, when I saw 1973 date code in my email notification, I thought that I'd found what I need for my resto! sad.gif

Unfortunately - despite a `73 date - these are the earlier pre-retractable 3-point belts, as used in the 70-72 MYs (maybe 72 only ??).

So they'll make a great addition to an early 914 resto for somebody!

I have no idea on pricing them though. Maybe call Rich Bontempi at HPH & ask him. confused24.gif

Look VERY nice.
Do have a question....might they be European version, re the yellow thread going down the centre/center?

Yes I have been told they are Euro version with the yellow/gold thread down the middle. I got several PM's and emails on this. These are now for sale in the parts forum.

Yes, the yellow thread makes them European and probably explains why they are not retractable like a US market 1973.
If you can change the labels to correct the date change the belts too.
If you go to that trouble don't drive too much with your windows down.
My NOS belts have tattered labels without too much mileage.

Changing the date labels would be a mistake. . the metal receivers and latches are also date coded. . mismatched dates would kill the value. . best these go to a Euro 73 car
