914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Floor Pan removal question

Posted by: Nacho Jan 24 2017, 08:31 PM

I hate to do this but I've but been searching for days now. Does someone know of a thread that helps or describes the removal of the floor boards? Specifically the more troublesome areas.

Much Thanks in advance!

Removal is usually about removing the tar and then cutting out the rusty part to good metal. It's the replacement that gets all the attention in the threads.

Hi Nacho, there are several topics on the forum about it, and also in some of the restoration threads.
A nice pic of McMark in an older post shows some more difficult areas (since you asked that)

In case you take out the floors and rockers are bad, or are removed as well, make sure to brace the car to hold integrity (also many topics about that)
Good luck, keep us posted with pics, interesting work ahead !
