I am putting my front suspension back into my 71 914 and have a question about #43. It is called sealing ring. What is this? what is it made from and does anybody sell these or do I need to call my parts buddy Garold?

Its' sorta the same kind of grey foam that pipe insulation is made from. It only keeps dirt and maybe water out. Its' a dealer part.

Could be easily substituted with a home made part made of close cell foam
