Hello,
Installing a new carpet set, tried to remove het handbrake lever.
Unfortunately, didn't work.
Removed the locking clip for the cable (cfr. Haynes repair manual).
But the pin wouldn't come out.
How can I solve this problem?
Thx
Mine was stuck too. Actually it's still stuck.
Support the back side and drive it out with a punch. Some one used a clutch clevis as the pin.
What Bruce said. Maybe start with a good soaking of penetrating oil and give it a couple hours.
Soak it, punch it or press it. Careful with the handle though, not worth messing that up. Does the other side come apart? Can you get it through the tunnel and out?
Kind of like what Rob said. Can you get enough slack to remove the handle with cable from the E brake cable loops coming thru the fire wall. That way you'd have it on the work bench. Much easier to work on.
That's right, I had the same issue....
