914World.com _ 914World Garage _ quick question....

Posted by: Tjmrfe Feb 23 2017, 04:56 PM

Hey Guys....
Obviously I'm bored...and my feet are too big,
Has anyone heard of or know of anyone moved the pedal assembly
A little to the left? It's a little tight under there...I haven't looked into,it, but thought I'd ask to see if anyone has done so?

Thanks!

Lets see now.
Move the three master cylinder holes, one ~ 1.5" two 8mm
Move the two pedal cluster mount studs.
Extend the throttle arm + extend the clutch arm or cut the side of the tunnel away
and angle the cables to the left.
Move the two 6mm gas pedal mount welded nuts.
Widen the slots on the toe board, or move the board to the left.
OR..... drive barefoot ?

Don't forget the reinforcing plate under the floor.

I've been driving barefoot for many years to fit my size 13s in the available space. I keep looking for some driving shoes that would work.

On an episode of phantom works, they used heat, then bent the pedal arms a little bit.
Wasnt on a 914, but might work.

I did exactly that on my old Karmann Ghia. You just need to heat and bend the clutch pedal. beerchug.gif

Yep. Clutch pedal fits fine. Bent the brake pedal 1" left. Slid the gas pedal 1" left with a bracket. No more rubbing foot against tunnel carpet making a hole.

Now the steering wheel feels way off, like 1 3/4" off screwy.gif

Okay....thanks for the input! I'll see how bored I really am, and put my time where my mouth is....If I do I'll be sure to complain and brag accordingly...thanks again....

I think some driving shoes or at least a pair of low profile sneakers that hold your feet snug would be the easiest short term solution (its what I do now)
