Had a great time at the Roadhouse. Did you know that there are two Roadhouses near the track? Brad and Sean found them both! Brad, Sean, myself, my son Cody and Jeff Fort had a great time talking teeners and stuff. After dinner we checked out Jeff's very nice 6. In 20 minutes, at night, in a parking lot, Brad critiqued the car. It's like they say, If you don't want to know the answer don't ask the question! The man is phenominal in his knowledge of the cars. At times it seemed him and Sean were answering questions before we could ask them. As for Brads board rep...He's definately not an a**hole, he could drink a 914 GT fuel tank full of ice tea with no problem and if you have a question he's the man to ask! He even set it up for Cody to help out on the team he crews for, the Rosser 911 GT car in the GrandAmerican Rolex Sports Car Series! I'll let him and Sean give the race details as Sean was also in the pits. I should have pics to post tomorrow, unless I take the easy way out and send them to Sean to do! Hope to do it again sometime.
Did anybody watch the race on Speed channel? I did get a quick glimpse of Brad ON ..the front of the 25 car, fueling it. How bout you, Tahoward....didya watch and see your son? Lest anyone think......Brad does not get ALL his traits from me.. Dad
Yes, I did Dad Roberts! He's the guy pointing the fire extinguisher at Brad. You can't tell since he's wearing the fire gear, but he's got a grin on his face that may never come off!!! You should be very proud of your son. He really made Cody's year! Terry
I been called a lot of things.....but NEVER a..Dad-hole ......I wasn't sure anyone would recognize Brad....even though it was his BEST side .........Dad
I watched the race but I never saw Brad or Sean (not that I would know what Sean looks like). And Brad is so ugly.......
Brad was in the black fire suit and white helmet fueling the white Porsche at the end of the pits just before the cars exit to go back on the track. Sean was timing and since I need his help on some pics I'd say he looks like his namesake, Sean Connery
Terry,
It was great meeting you, Cody & Jeff. Cody told me a couple of times "this is a dream come true..." I agree, it was a lot of fun.
The team, Mind Over Motorsports, is great. They are very young and really, really know their stuff! We had the fastest car in class and the best driver (David Murray) but had a couple mishaps that put us a lap down. We ended up 4th in class.
Once again, I really enjoyed hanging with you guys at dinner and at the track.
Now, get a car ready so Cody can get driving!!! I think he'd like a ride like Blake's when the 914's are done.
Oh, did anyone tape this.
We didn't get a chance to see it and SPEED doesn't show another airing of it on their schedule.
DAMN...Tivo failed me. Actually, it's really irritating that Speed lists every single program (just about) as "Auto Racing" or "Motorcycle Racing". Jeez, can ya get a little more specific? I have programmed it to look for various keywords but then they called this one "Rolex Sports Car Racing" instead of something actually descriptive.
OK, rant off...sounds like it was a good time. Pics, anybody?
> "In a way, that's too bad. Dad-hole has a nice sound to it. "
..damn it that's Funny!!!
>" I been called a lot of things.....but NEVER a..Dad-hole"
..nice reply Dad Roberts.
I DID tape the race, though I haven't watched it yet.
> "Brad was in the black fire suit and white helmet fueling the white Porsche at the end of the pits just before the cars exit to go back on the track. "
..I'll be looking for that.
Very cool! I'm glad your son had a great time!
My son and I are hooking up with Brad and the team down in Daytona. Now that I know that Brad is such a TV magnet, I'll have to get my wife to set the VCR. If I could only find out when it is on. Speed's TV listings suck big time!
I saw the second half of the race, but didn't notice the Mind over Motorsports car or team.
My wife and I were excited to see Eric Curran with the overall lead in the #29 GTS Mustang. Too bad the car broke down. I used to race with Eric in SCCA, ITB. He is a very talented driver.
wow. you go to dinner with your dad and a guy he "met" in a bbs and you get the ultimate hot pit pass. what a fine dinner that was.

I, too, had a great time meeting Terry, his son, Brad and Sean Friday night -- after Brad and Sean toured north central Ohio looking for the place. Brad had the left front tire of my car off the ground as he took off out of the parking lot. Brad and Sean pointed out a lot of little things to help me with the car -- e.g., the front turn signal covers needed to be rotated and I had the top in the trunk backwards. As they say, a great time was had by all. Wish I could have gone to the race on Saturday. The national motorcycle flat track race in Lima pretty much got rained out about 60 miles to the west of Mid Ohio.
Jeff, wonder who the dummy was that put the lenses on upside down?
pics coming soon, look for a new thread LOTS of pics!
No, Jim, dumb is putting the top in the trunk backwards and wondering why the hood is so hard to latch. BTW, took the windshield out Saturday. The new clips made all the difference. Put the metal trim back on. Would have been too involved painting the glass and using the rubber trim. I'll hold on to it in case someone else wants to try. Window and trim look great now. Thanks for your help
"Now that I know that Brad is such a TV magnet, I'll have to get my wife to set the VCR. " ............Brad's first week in California, he ended up on TV. Speed channel.....SuperChevy coverage at Pomona. Don Garlits interviewed the owner of Renegade after we took 3 Chevy V8 Porsches to their Super Chevy show. A 911, and 2 928s. Brad and I were behind them and were in charge of keepin the crowd in line. Had a blast driven those 928s to the show........messin with 5.0 Mustangs Oh yea.....2 outta the 3 cars won a trophy. .....lol ... Dad
Hey Dad Roberts,
I think you went to HS with my mom or her brother & her cousins.
Karen Johnson - my mom
Jim Johnson - my uncle
Ronnie Jackson - mom's cousin
Ronnie & Uncle Jim got separated sometime in HS because they got in trouble too much, one of them may have ended up at Cathedral or somewhere else.
there are more...mom was born in 45, my uncle is a couple years older, and I think Ronnie is same or year younger than Uncle Jim.
I keep forgetting Brad's mom's maiden name so I can ask mom if she knows you.
BTW, what's your first name?
Thanks,
sean lee
Hey Sean Sounds like your family is a bit older than me....I'm 52, born in 1950. Gradyeeeeated in 69.. I went to Tech HS.....Oh yea.....first name is Norman......Thank Z, for the Dad Roberts nickname
WOOPS, Mom was born in 47, dad was 45. I hope she doesn't read this
lol.......Brads' moms maiden name was Jensen....she went to Howe HS
Damn..
see what I miss when I'm out of town
I think the best part about having these young guy's help: They attended the race with their fathers.
It really makes me feel good to know that I had a positive influence on a couple of young guy's lives all the way across the country.
This site has turned into more than I ever could have hoped for.
