914World.com _ 914World Garage _ How do I remove the needle?

Posted by: Dave Cawdrey Jun 29 2003, 08:09 PM

I have my 912 fuel guage apart. I can't figure out how to get the needle off to remove the little level indicator thingy.

How do I remove this? Do I need to remove the needle to get the number plate off?

TIA

idea.gif I was trying to slide the plate over the needle.

No brute force here. Even tho its a "tester" guage, I still want to do it correctly. Unless brute force is neccessary... confused24.gif

Brute force will prolly brake something. If the needle hub is not friction fit onto a post, and you cannot release it from the back side or the guts of the cluster, Im guessing it aint gunna come off.

you need weapons of mass destruction to remove the face plate. LOL. try emailing a gauge restoration shop
