914World.com _ 914World Garage _ How to re-wire the Head Tempature Sensor after EFI

Posted by: NJTom Mar 18 2017, 09:14 AM

Hi we are getting ready to install a 1974 2.0 with a carburetor but don't know what to do with the Tempature Sensonr wire that comes from the motor. We found it in the EFI harness. Is there a way to directly wire and if so where does it go? Thanks in advance! [attachmentid=597117][attachmentid=597117]

I do hope you mean carburetors, as it two...

The only way to be sure a single carb works proper is to test the float.
Toss the carb in a lake and if it floats it's good to use.

The temp sensor is only for the FI, remove it, tuck it away or snip the wire off.

The cht wire you identified does not send signal to a gauge. Only to the fi brain. You don't need it with carbs

If you run a cht gauge there is a seperate wire under a spark plug for that signal

Don't cut the wire. Just loosen and remove it. It's not a cheap part. You should store it for your future use or give it to me smile.gif
