OK, between Terry Howard and I we took quite a few pics, over a hundred.
I'm not gonna bore you with that many, but I think we'll still have bunches.
We'll start with a pic of Brad in the shop.

Friday we had to add some plastic balls to reduce the amount of fuel in the tank.
Gran Am allows 23.9 and we were a bit over. Now it's 23.6 and the Grand Am official put his seal on it to show it as AOK.

Here's another shot. This one shows the dry break system.

Porsche really knows how to take car if it's owners & mechanics.
They installed a nice I cream holder for us!

as you can see it functions quite well. This is Tim (working) and Alan (eating).

This is a picture of the team and car.
(L-R) Betim, Alan, Doug, Tim, Brad, & Chris.
Tim & Chris own Mind Over Motorsports.
Betim & Alan are mechanics.
Doug drives the rig and helps with odd jobs (what I did, too).
Brad is responsible for fuel and helps with stuff like tranny swaps, etc...
This is a great group of guys, Chris and Tim really know their stuff and don't dick around half-assed. They do it right and they do it without hesitation. All the guys were great to hang around with and they all are great mechanics.

Friday we did some pit stop practices, actually LOTS of them! We shaved over 15 seconds off during practice.
Attached image(s)
This is what our pits look like in practice.
Fuel hose on left, tire rack in middle and tool box on right.
We've got 4 bottles running air tools that are located under the tires and tool box.

This is Cody, Terry's son, in our Garage Saturday morning. You can't see just how excited he was, he hid it pretty well, but I know he was stoked.
Attached image(s)
This Cody, a couple hours later. He did the firebottle. Firebottle guy has to have a firesuit, so we found one for him. You can't see it but he doesn't have socks on, haha! About half way through the race I noticed that - oops!
Attached image(s)
This Brad, Cody and I after we loaded up the fueling rig. Our pump sucked (no pun intended). It was a hand crank pump and the seal and the handle had dried up and was throwing fuel all over Brad & I while filling it. You can see that both Brad & Cody were in firesuits, but since no one really likes me, I was ok in jeans - DOH! Actually, they had to wear the suits since they went over the wall during the race. My job during pitstops was to open the fuel valve and hold it open til the car was full.

Here we are during the race.

Here David Murray trades places with Blake Rosser.
In practice, we found it was easier to fuel if Brad climbed on the hood of the car, so here he is on the carbon fiber hood and fenders

great pictures, sean. thanks for posting them
Double check that Andy. I think it says the right thing.
Are you trying to make me look bad!
cool pics....was this televised? i saw that brumos car on TV before i thik at watkins glenn
Great pics!!! How'd you guys draw Pit #1? That's the best pit. I love the fabcar too. Looks like you guys had a great time.
I don't know how we got pit #1, but it was sweet. Pull in deep and not worry about anyone in front!
The race was on SPEED, and yes, you would have seen the Brumos cars at Watkins Glen a week prior, or at Daytona in Feb or Fontana in May.
i don't know, but i think that nuttybuddy on the intake is giving you guys an illegal advantage by cooling the intake charge.
Thanks for posting the pics. Waaaaay too cool
cheers,
Jeroen
Great pics and comments. Many thanks
Very nice... thank you for posting these!
I found another one....the note on the rear bumper reads..."Please don't feed the Monkeys...thanks management"

pretty hard to read on that pic...i found it eventually
DAMN... one day we will be famous. Thanks for posting all these pics Sean.
What most people dont know: Tim worked for my Texas shop back in the early 90's doing mostly 914 and 944 stuff. Chris almost came to work for me but his employer offered up more money to stay on. Now... get this.. Tim and Chris both worked for a guy who runs a Audi in Grand Am cup.. I hired Tim away from him and almost had Chris away from him. Tim and I have known each other since age 21 (11 years now).

Geezo, HH doesn't look nearly as old as you'd think given his longstanding racing reputation.
Looks like you guys had a real blast.
A blast it was... but I think GrandAm is semi pro compared to ALMS. Having experience in both.. GrandAm is the "Non-Factory backed" teams....IE: Rich guys that can afford 30-40k a weekend. Nothing wrong with that.. I think its a great stepping stone to factory backing.
I wish I could swing a Daytona Prototype.
B
you know....FABCAR is about 15 minutes from my house...

Yeah.. I know.. I'm the one who told YOU..LOL
I wonder if Honda would be interested in putting a DP together (since Brumos has the Porsche powered ones wrapped up)
B
maybe, you might be right about that...
modena powered!!!
not mugen!
