Hey:Is there any way to delete, your for sale ad in the classified section????After it is sold.I can not seem to figure it out.Any help would be great. Thanks

Can't delete, but go to your first post in your thread. Hit the edit button at the bottom right of the post box. Then full edit. Then you can change the title of the thread to reflect that it is sold. Easy.

I prefer that you don't delete your ads because old ads are the perfect way to research prices. Peeps here hate when you ask what it's worth, so this is the only way to gauge asking prices.

So why do you have to delete your ad?

Are you trying to hide the the profit from the taxman? or ex-wife?

The ads here self-delete after 1 month...none are available for future research.

If that's the default here, then we need to stop bitching when someone asks what a reasonable asking price is.

Old ads are a valuable source for people to get accurate pricing, that's why it's so annoying when people change the price and just put sold, so you now know one sold, but not for how much. It's a good service to the community to keep the pricing up, especially if it sold, because that's a real data point, as compared to the not so real data point of people's asking prices, which many times are just crazy. Yes the numbers get thrown around anyway, "So and so is asking blank for his car/part, does that make mine worth blank+1?"

How the hell are we supposed to know somethings value if we can't research it dry.gif

You get bitched at if you ask.
You get bitched at if your price is too high.
You're a sucker if your price is too low.

In the classifieds section, scroll down to the bottom of the page and in the box where it says the past 30 days, change it to Show All, then click the GO button:

I knew I'd looked up old ads before, thanks. shades.gif

As to the original post, I'd prefer it was left so people can see what similar parts have sold for in the past.

One thing I do wish sellers would do is mark the item as sold.

Yeah just hit Edit & add Sold in your title! Don't delete your title just add Sold. That way it will still search smile.gif

I would also add don't delete the price - even if it is the asking and not actual sale price. I have seen so many that in place of the asking price is SOLD. makes it worthless for gauging reasonable prices.

Agreed. This is a forum. The price is what it is and should not be a secret.
