914World.com _ 914World Garage _ mystery ground wire

Posted by: vmills May 6 2005, 10:20 PM

I've been wondering about this wire for a while. It's a ground, I know that, but I don't know for what. Actually, i'm not really sure if it's a ground, but pretty sure. Anyone know what it's for, where it comes from? This car has factory A/C so it might be for that? it's a 1974 1.8 stock L-jet.

Thanks for any insight

If it's brown, just connect it to ground.

It's already grounded...I just don't know what it's a ground for.

"Factory A/C? Not a chance. No such thing. As for the wire, looka like it needs to go to a cheesehead screw on the engine. Make it so. The Cap'n

He's right. Don't worry where it goes, if it's brown, flush it down (I mean ground it).

Where did the A/C come from? - was it dealer installed? The car is originally a Texas car.

Yes, A/C's were dealer installed.
