Hey all,
I've been doing some thinking, and it occurred to me that a metallic dark green (a la British Racing Green) might not look too bad on a 914, especially with a tan interior... Since the factory green colors aren't all that IMO, I'd like to see if any of you have painted your cars in a (non-factory) shade of dark metallic green, and if so, I would love to see how it turned out... Thanks!
Sorry no pic
But I have seen it done, British racing Green.
I liked it

I posted this yesterday on another thread. Not British Racing Green by any stretch of the imagination, but it is green.

British Racing Green, Tan interior and a real wood dash...That would look hot.
I'm going to be making some wood dashes in the near future. PM me if your interested.
Going to try some exotiic woods.

There is a dark metallic green 914 with a tan interior here in AZ, saw it at an AX a few years ago. Sweet, sweet, sweet. I'll see if I can dig up a couple pics..
Oak Green Metallic is a great dark green metallic. And it's even original Porsche color.
The day I brought my '75 to it's new home after sitting in the PO's garage for some 15+ years....notice the thick coat of dirt. It actually cleaned up quite nicely. NO rust; perfect interior. Blocks under the tires were because the plastic door latch actuators both broke and I couldn't get inside the car to set the hand brake until AAA came. I know, bad photo.

I dunno, I think the right type of wood would look really nice. I'm certainly interested to see what you come up with Leo.
I really like the Irish Green, been thinking about repainting my car that colour.
You can see a little of the color here.....overall not bad...
I have boston green on my BMW and like it best...

Color is from a 1980 VW Scirrocco, metallic green (by PO). Interior is tan. Unfortunately the car was flooded during Hurricane Ivan and is out of commission.

Thanks Hydra and good luck. Watch out for BRG colors- they can have many variants from lighter to darker depending on the British maker.
