What are you going to do with a 901 for a 911? Ring and pinion is wrong for a 914.

(I ask because I was sort of interested in this tranny as well just because I wanted one to take a part and put back together just for the fun of it.)

I am guessing he wants to see if the gears are the same. I could be wrong.

Whats a Magical gear? Anything like an H gear for 5th and something special for 3rd?

S for 4th and HB to flip and put in 5th
and stock fifth flipped into 3rd

close ratio 1-2-3-4 and a tall 5th for cruisin

So what's the deal? You've got a 901 that needs to be delivered to Brad somewhere at sometime? What city is Brad in and by when? Is Brad an option seeing as he is going to deliver it to you?
Have you exhausted all options to get the trans moved by the seller?
Benicia is in a direction I don't often go. Ya' know?

If all else fails, I'll be glad to do it.

OK, I don't know anything about how to send tranny's thru greyhound but if you can get the sellers to box it, then i will pick it up for you and drop it off and my local greyhound.
i'm sure some other 914clubbers have done this before so please ensure this will all work.

So how'd you score the trans?
