I can't find anyone in the Nashville TN area that can fix a bropken hinge on my rear trunk. I bought the item from Pelican to fix it, can't find an actual hinge. I can't figure it out. Thank you

FYI, the mounts for the trunk hinges are welded to the body inside the engine compartment, high up on the sides.

Get a Jwest hinge repair kit.

I bought that pivot kit from Pelican. The body guy can't figure how to put in. I'm not handy, that's why I need someone, even in middle tn, to install for me.

you can install it yourself, no welding required just drilling

The jwest kit is super simple. Any shop should be able to do it without needing instructions. But didn't it come with some?

I'd have figured your body guy would say, hell, don't even need that kit, we'll just weld it back up! Maybe it's time to find a better body guy/shop? Certainly Nashville must have one!

I removed my torsion bars because I felt they contributed to the hinge failure. You can use shocks sold by a vendor here. Or I just used a stick. (Really a golf club shaft without the iron.)

No, torsion bar removal is required. You have to get those out of the way and the hinge arm out of the way to remove the old hinge bracket.

What you might be thinking about is that I said not to remove the trunk lid. If it is left in place, the hinge can be positioned while the deck lid is all lined up so there is no trial and error.
