Works for me, but I am thinking breakfast. Hot in Pomona in July!

- Joe assimilate.gif

Posted by: kdfoust Jul 1 2003, 07:04 PM

Hot I'd say! I'm planning to go but I'll roll outa D. Pt. @ 5am be there at 6:00-6:30. I could hang with anybody that wants to prowl the junk, er ah I mean parts in early hours but I'll be flushing outa there before noon.

Have fun,
Kevin

Posted by: mikester Jul 1 2003, 07:07 PM

I'm with you Kevin.

And did you see this pic? My favorite from the trip...

Posted by: kdfoust Jul 1 2003, 08:52 PM

Wow. I like the speed effect. If I remember correctly I was going 165 mph at that point. tongue.gif

I haven't had a chance to go through the pix on the website.

Have fun,
Kevin

I am thinking the same thing. Early is good.

Mikester and I may go out there with a few other folks.

We oughta pick a early morning meeting place then. Anyone been there enough to be able to pick a place?

Have fun,
Kevin

Posted by: Mockmaw Jul 2 2003, 12:32 AM

I'm going to try my best to make it this time, assuming I can get a little time off of work.

Posted by: Steve Jul 2 2003, 07:46 AM

I'll go.
We can pay extra and park in the preferred area.
I went a year ago and there were several teeners parked together in there.
Of course everyone will think there for sale.

Steve

Posted by: Aaron Cox Jul 2 2003, 08:47 AM

if you bring your car (porsche, vw, old chevy, etc) you get to park in the 'show' area. 20 bucks total...cheaper than driving to the lot, 6 bucks for parking, and amission. all that is included in the 20 bucks cool.gif

Posted by: seanery Jul 2 2003, 09:34 AM

if you want a good place to meet, there is always a line of port-o-johns next to the VW-Porsche area. You could meet at the main aisle next to those. they are pretty easy to find.

Posted by: nealnorlack Jul 2 2003, 10:24 PM

Greetings from Hong Kong,
As it turns out, my schedule has me at home on the 13th and I will probably plan on going. I haven't been there in a while. I didn't know there was prefered parking at the swap meat!! 6:30 am! Yikes! I don't know about that but I'll do my best.
Cheers, (from the other side of the world) Elliot

If I get back in time from my N Cal trip, I'll see you there. I am looking for BMW 2002 parts for my latest project and my buddy is always there selling old flathead ford hot rod parts. Fun to go and look at the cars in preferred parking for sale. Dave Hall

Posted by: seanery Jul 3 2003, 07:14 AM

The last time I went, I saw a decent 2002 sell for $400 (yes four hundred).

It wasn't pretty but it looked solid, and it was driven to the meet.

Posted by: mikester Jul 3 2003, 10:52 AM

Kevin, I think you need your speedo checked. You were clearly going faster than light.

In fact, that picture is proof of your car getting younger the faster it goes.

The pic is from our Ensenada run last weekend, Kevin, myself and 3 other 914s and a 944 hi-tailed it down there and back last sunday.

Here's the pics I took

There's even a few videos

Ok. So it seems like a bunch of us want to go. How do we want to do this?

Should we pay to get our cars in the show area? Or meet by the Andy Gumps @ 6:30 AM (or thereabouts)?

- Joe assimilate.gif

Posted by: Aaron Cox Jul 3 2003, 08:48 PM

pay to go to show area wink.gif best way..and if you bring someone in yur car...split the cost and you're up two dollars compared to admission + parkin + friend

we could all meet up somewhere before hand and then all go to the show wink.gif

BUMP

Posted by: KaptKaos Jul 5 2003, 10:15 PM

I can appreciate that, however, I am thinking that AC in Pomona next Sunday is a requirement that my 914 doesn't meet. I know we all want to gawk at each others cars, but I'll cook like bacon in that heat out there.

- Joe assimilate.gif

Posted by: KaptKaos Jul 7 2003, 09:07 AM

Ok, so who's going and where are we meeting?

- Joe assimilate.gif

Posted by: Aaron Cox Jul 7 2003, 09:12 AM

98% sure im in

Posted by: KaptKaos Jul 8 2003, 11:37 AM

Anyone else going?

Posted by: mikester Jul 8 2003, 01:25 PM

Joe, you already know I'm in and I'm riding with you.

biggrin.gif

Posted by: bernbomb914 Jul 8 2003, 01:38 PM

I am planning to go with my son-in -law will do the show thing because it is a lot less walking.

Posted by: Aaron Cox Jul 8 2003, 02:14 PM

should we all meet for food? breakfat anyone? chowtime.gif

Posted by: KaptKaos Jul 8 2003, 02:57 PM

I think breakfast is gonna be tough. Maybe lunch afterwards.

What time do people want to meet in the morning and where?

- Joe

Posted by: campbellcj Jul 10 2003, 12:03 AM

There's a slim chance I'll be there. My bro-in-law has never been, and wants to scope out the 'murican iron section. (He's a Mustang guy.)

I won't drive the teener though; it's reserved for track and canyon use driving.gif

Posted by: KaptKaos Jul 10 2003, 10:10 AM

Mikester,

I thought I was riding with you!

- Joe

Posted by: Steve Jul 10 2003, 08:50 PM

I'm gonna go.
What time is everyone getting there??
I'm gonna pay the $20 bucks and park in the preferred.

Posted by: KaptKaos Jul 11 2003, 01:01 PM

Ok, so how do we want to make sure we meet up?

Ideas anyone?

Posted by: Steve Jul 11 2003, 02:35 PM

How about we show up around 6am and park in the preferred area next to the 914's??

Acox & Steve,

Saw your cars. Did not see you.

Hey Acox, next time write your cell number on the little note you left on your dash so we could find you!

Got a few trim pieces, lug bolts, and saw some neat cars.

Did you all see the blue 914-6? Sweet.

Sorry I missed everyone.
I wasn't feeling very good and spent half my time checking out the inside of the portapotties. I walked the isles and headed home.
That Blue Six was beautiful and so was the price tag.
It said something like factory invoice $6800 + collector car markup $18k = $24k or something like that.
I didn't see anything worth buying and headed home.
I hope I feel better next time.
