Haven't heard from the resident A-hole in a while...
He's racing : see "Mid-Ohio Pics" and "Mid-Ohio Dinner".
He is in Daytona now for a race Thursday night.
Wow he actually gets ut of the shop every once in a while. I figured between that & finding those few moments each day to be on the site he'd have no life. NOt a bad life dealing with Porsches all day I have to admit though! Hope you have a great time Brad
Isn't Brad working the Grand Am night race at Daytona? You could go visit him Karl. Only an hour away. Not sure what night it is, but you would have to infiltrate NASCAR occupied territory to find him! I wait until the track has sportscar races in February and November and the crowds are down, along with hotel rates.
Mike
the race is thursday night, television coverage is either Friday or Saturday, can't really remember.
Practice is Wednesday, race on Thursday night - late.
I guess Brad finally gave up on us suckers with 914s
He's playing with the GT3-gods now
cheers,
Jeroen
(only slightly jealous )
Nice work if you can get it! He's having a blast with that group he works with. Hopefully the racing gods will smile on them this week!
Looks like there 12th out of the gate http://www.grandamerican.com/race_results/view_qual1437.h
and it looks like it's shown at 3:00pm ET http://www.grandamerican.com/broadcast_schedule.html
Wow! Looks like they did extremely good.
They finished 5th overall and 2nd in class.
Congrats to the "Minds over Motorsports" team!!!
cheers,
Jeroen
Can't find the results, so which race is it??? I am watching Speedvision now, Calif 250.
Geoff
Hey Geoff,
It's the "paul revere 250" at Daytona
You can watch the results http://www.grandamerican.com/race_results/view_final98.html
cheers,
Jeroen
PS, they even beat the Gunnar Racing GT1
Its the Rosser Racing Team??
Geoff
Yup,
the race was Thursday nite, they showed it on SPEED yesterday at 3pm EDT. They showed the pitstop and how slow it was. Looked like there was some trouble with the vent hose.
Randy Pobst (Far Right)
Blake Rosser (next to Randy)
those are from the http://www.grand-am.com
Here's some from California MS
passing the 58 car
on the podium
Randy Pobst (again-far left)
Blake Rosser (next to Randy)
oh, the Gunnar GT1 was equiped with a GT3R engine and suspension. At least that's what they said on TV during an interview. Kyle Petty ran as driver #3 for them.
Yep the Gunnar car isn't really a GT1
It's a tubeframe car with a GT1 body and like you said a GT3 engine
IIRC the gearbox is from a GT1
Still, you'd expect a car like that to do much better
Those Daytona prototypes from Brumos are soooooo ugly
cheers,
Jeroen
Well, Randy Pobst won some race on Speedvision today. I think the Calif 250.
Geoff
bite your tongue Jeroen, the FABCAR DP's are beautiful, even the toyota powered one isn't bad (yep, toyota FABCAR). It's got different head and tail lights.
Geoff,
that was the Grand Am Cup which is similar to speed channel world challenge, those were tape delayed. They ran the same weekend as when Brad was there.
Sean,
Did they show me coming off the car with the fuel hoses ?? I came off the car and was blinded by the camera lights.. I wasnt sure if it would make it to TV or not. They came by later during the race and asked Chris what happened on camera.
It sucked. I had to RIG a vent line fitting at Ohio (Sean helped me) and it came back to bite us at Daytona. The support truck that runs around to each event (BSR) didnt have what I needed to make the fuel rig 100% legal for Grand Am. They let us slide for Fontana... and the team didnt do anything about it in between rounds...
B
what happened to it (the vent line) ?
they showed you standing there trying and trying to get fuel in ... seemed like a looooong stop. They cut away before the end of it.
Fuel sloshed up into the vent line and blocked it when I jumped the wall and tried to fuel the car. I made DAMN sure there was none in the line prior to the fuel stop. It sloshed into the line when I started yanking on everything.
DAMN. I need to see the race.
