What does a 914 roller weigh? No motor, trans or interior? Just the front and rear suspension on it. Has trunk lids also.
1000 lbs or less?
IIRC the engine/tranny weigh about 700 lbs
So, with the interior removed, you should be pretty close to 1000
cheers,
jeroen
The engine (-4) and 901 trans are a lot closer to 400lbs than 700.

In that case, I'm either confusing it with the weight of the 6 engine/tranny
or I'm messing up my conversions from kg to lbs (and vise versa)
or I'm just confused
It's prolly option 3...
cheers,
Jeroen
You could have done your guesstimation in kg's. I'm Canadian and convert weight/gals/liters/presure back and forth all the time.
So if the car weights 1800-1900lbs (815-865kgs) it should be, around 1000 (455kg) missing motor, trans, interior and glass?
Complete, the cars weigh 2100-2200 lbs.
Figure 450 for the motor/trans.
200-300 lbs for the other stuff.
SWAG 1500.
If it's also mssing the spare, battery, jack .... all the loose stuff, maybe 1350.
only slightly off this topic...
What does a 6 motor (complete) weigh all by itself.
I know there were different cases... (mag versus aluminum)..
does anybody have a guestimate?

does anybody know what a complete aluminum case motor would weigh? (say from a 1967 S)

I don't see the '67-'69S, but the '65 911 with aluminum case and Biral
cyl was 405lbs. For reference, the 906 which had the mag case, aluminum
cyl and some titanium was 286!
