914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Steering column mount

This has been covered but..... me and 'search' don't get along so well.
Is an early 4 cyl. steering column mount ( the fixed part attached to the cowl )
the same as a 6 column mount ?
I know I can adapt it but if the part can be cut from an early 4 chassis I'd rather do it that way.

I believe the early ones are. I dont know about the later ones. I'm a bit confused about specifics. To me, it seems the early steerer columns can be used - as is - but the later ones need to be converted to early 4 or harvested from a 911. I wouldnt mind some education on what fits, what doesnt.

Yes the 70-71 are the same. 72 up will not work.

Hey Mark
My chassis is a '75, I have a real 6 column and it does not jive at all.

Anyone have experience with this or maybe link us to a thread ?
I know I've seen it covered here.
TIA
Rory
