Replaced all my injection lines with the very nice Tangerine lines and installed a replacement Bosch 69133 fuel pump
Wires to it from the loom need extending and the original plug cut off leaving a brown wire and black/red wire.
Does it matter which way they are connected to the new fuel pump? the replacement pump has different sized screw on terminals making me think it has polarity, and I'd like the pump to rotate in the right direction or does it matter at all?
need some help, after months of work I hope to fire up my 914 tomorrow!.
Thanks
At the risk stating the obvious: Brown is ground (-), black/red is positive (+).
Are there any markings on the fuel pump terminals?
The terminals of the new pump are marked "+" and "-", molded onto the plastic. The markings are small and kinda hard to see, but they're there. The brown wire goes to the "-" terminal and the other wire goes to the "+" terminal.
+1
You don't need to cut the original plugs. Just make a short (3-4") pigtail with a screw eye on one end for the pump and male spade on the other to connect to the factory female connectors. There's pics of the ones I made in my youtube install video...
