914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Center Console Wiring

I need to know where the black with blue dots wire goes in the center counsel.
It's a wire that's coming up out of the tunnel area.
I don't seem to have a place for it to connect to.
It has a small female spade connector.

Don't know if you've seen them already but Bowlsby's site has a few diagrams regarding electrical for the center console that might be helpful as well.

Look halfway down in the electrical section.

If I'm thinking correctly, that's the wire that feeds power to the indicator lamp for the heater lever behind the shifter.

pretty sure its the light for the heater control lever on the tunnel. If you have a console it needs a brown wire to ground, if no console the unit/liht grounds itself with the screw that holds it to the tunnel.

My question is, do these wires have to be connected or can they be just taped off and left alone or do they need to be connected to complete a circuit.

They dont have to be connected. Mine were under the carpet, unattached.

Made adding the console easy.

I would definitely tape off any bare connectors. Part of this wiring was fried on my car I suspect for this very reason. I had to repair that section. That wire has voltage on it when lights are on.
