I am coming in to San Diego for business on 5/23 and 5/24.

Open for dinner and/or drinks in the evening of 5/24. Always nice to meet fellow 914 clubbers.

So I would assume that this the area they call So. Cal right? What will the weather be like?

Anybody have a teener they want to rent me for the day?

Thanks Mark,

Not sure where we are staying yet. From what I understand the customer that we are visiting, Solar Turbine, is right on the PCH. When I find out more I'll let ya know.

Thanks for the weather.... probably be in a zoot suit most of the time but ya never know.

Okay Finally got the scoop.

Will arrive in SD on 23rd, but busy that evening, dinner with customers.

HOWEVER... I am free the night of the 24th, couldn't get a flight out that night so we are staying over until 25th.

I am staying at the Hilton on Harbor Island Drive.

Who's up for it. First round is on me

BTW... Paging Dr. Evil...... I put the clamshells that you sold me on last weekend.... went great. Come on man I owe you a for that. (see PC, hah)

I'm confused. The first post says Monday the 23rd is open, and then today's post says Tuesday the 24th is open.

Which is it? Monday 23, or Tuesday 24?

I'll be needing exact directions to these places.. I know of the "5" the "8" and the "15" that is about it..maybe "83" ?? does that sound right ?

I like the San Diego Brewing Co on Friars. It is not usually very crowded, its central, and it has many beers on tap.

But, I really don't care either way. Let me know what you think.

Sorry for the confusion guys. It is the 24th that is open. Time wise probably anytime after 6:00 would be OK.

I'll let you guys decide on the place

We probably should plan it in advance..... I need to have a specific excuse to ditch my traveling companions. Unless they want to come along.

Just let me know the when and where and I'll be there.

Depending on what time my golf round finishes that afternoon (work golf league) I may be able to join you guys. It's usually over by around 7:00 ~ 7:30 PM

I’m good for the evening of the 24th. Ideally we could drive a string of 914’s to the Hilton, and pick up Todd in style, take a couple of sunset laps around Harbor Island, and then head off for beers. There would be some good photo ops at the Hilton courtyard/fountain and on Harbor Island with the downtown San Diego skyline in the background. The SDBC rates good to awesome reviews at pubcrawler.com, and Evil makes a good point regarding the centrality. Those that couldn’t meet at the Hilton with a 914 (or whatever else they want to drive) would see us at the brew house. A few 914's pulling up to the Hilton could make this a mini-event for our club member from Ohio. How does that sound?

Sounds good to me. I go to SDBC every Wed night from 8pm to when ever. Great place. I probably will not have a car so I will go and get us reservations.

Everyone coming should RSVP here so I know how many seats to reserve. If you just want to drink, we could crowd the bar

RSVP'ing and I am in for a 914 mini-caravan to pick this guy up at the Hilton along with anyone else that would like to participate. Just say the time to meet at the Harbor Island Hilton, and if this is what others would like to do, chime in if you will be there for the pick up. I will volunteer to be DD and make sure Todd gets back to Hilton if there isn't already a plan in place. Looks like Cloudbuster is coordinating so I will defer to him to firm things up. John

I'm outta town on Monday, which makes me out of reach. I'm an anti-cellphone luddite.

Other than that, how about shooting for 7pm at SD Brewing Co? Pick up Todd at 6:30 at the Hilton? (I'm not sure if Tinkerbell well be ready for the parade)

Any objections? That should give enough time to gather from hither an yon.

It should be behind the Carl's Jr on the north side of the road.

It is in a little strip mall. There is a PetCo, a Carl's Jr., and a Coco's in the same lot. It is in the middle and is spelled out San Diego Brewing Company.

Yep. I did a fly-by this evening (I actually didnt pay attention to the date/time) and it is not listed correctly. Cool place. NICE servers. I'll see what I can do about tomorrow evening. I planned a "all hands" meeting with the shop for tomorrow evening because my dumbass *thought* our gathering was tonight. DOH !!

I'm thinking about bringing the crew from the shop with me and holding our meeting at the same time.

Sorry I've been AWAL for the last day or so. Can't seem to get wireless access here in the SD

Anyway I got John's email and we are set for tonight.

I am rushing out to a meeting now but I just wanted to check in. I'm still on east coast time so I've been up since 4:30 SD time

Hey Guys,

Just got back in the office.... flying all day yesterday.

Thanks to all for a terrific time.

I have a few lame pics that I will post in a little while.

HUGE Thanks to John for picking me up. My very first ride in a 914..... what a freakin blast man

Great people, beer and food what can you say.... it was cool.

Great to meet Brad, Mike, John , Brer, Don T, Elliot and everyone else.

The only bad thing was that I did not have enough time to spend talking to everyone there.
