Is there a cross reference for a replacement oil filter that will screw into an OEM 914/6 oil tank? TIA.

I just find one that will fit an early 911. The ones that use a console. If it works on a 71, it will work on your 6

Porsche has a factory red OEM replacment. You can get them from Stoddard.

Mahle OC61 fits and is larger than stock, then the red stock Puralator (?) which is genuine as mentioned, don't remember the number for that one.

Wix/napa gold filters are also OK, just stay away from those orange filters.

I also get them at the Porsche dealer. They don't sock them but it usually just takes a day or 2.
