Discussion: if thru some divine act my car was magically transformed to Ravenna Green, Signal Orange, Aubergine, Zambezi or Willow Green, or one of about a dozen other colors, then I would have a new favorite color. Reasonably rust-free and running are far more important.

Not necessarily, My car may be Tangerine and I did post a picture of it..
But, it wouldn't have been my first choice of color when I bought it..
It was the color it was....
I did entertain the thought of a color change back in the 70's
I've learned to like it over the last 40+ years...
But if I HAD been given a choice back in the day... ??

I bought an OEM pair from Brad at 914 Ltd. , but may not have the right holes on the doors to install them. Regardless, I have two months to sort this out.

My wife and I like all the early 70s colors, but agreed that for a 914 we like Signal Orange best. That said, we are looking forward to fresh Saturn Yellow on the car I'm working on now.

I am a fan of Silver Metallic (my 911 is silver (6206), but if it were a 914 color, Bahama Yellow (a 911/912 color) would be my choice. I'll be saving that color for my '66 912

Irish Green and BRG are similar. BRG is a bit deeper, maybe more blue in it?

I find that I now like some of the odd 70's colors, that I didn't like back then.

I'm partial to the blue and green metallic paints, but with the black accents any color looks good on a 914.

My 6 had a metallic grass green with light tan interior, both a bit rare, and a great combination

I like my factory Scarlet red. This isn't factory paint, but color matched. Door jambs seem to match spot on. I will admit when its cloudy it looks a little more pastel.

Phoenix Red, Irish Green and Alaska Blue Metallic are also favorites of mine.

The metallic blue is nice, but I think the blue next to really gives the 914 a happy sports car vibe. I also think the second best color is a nice sexy Black and of course you can never go wrong with old classy grey. In that order for me.

That Ancona Blue does look Great! Even though it's not a 914 color, I've always thought that Ford's "Tangerine Scream" color would look great on a 914, especially with blacked out chrome & bumpers.

Could you expand on "though it's not a 914 color"? I have a 75 in Ancona blue, L97B is stamped on the car.
Are you saying that because it's a shared color with VW or for some other reason?

Sorry Guys! Apparently, I worded this compliment very poorly. I LOVE that Ancona blue and fully realize it is a legitimate 914 color. I was trying to compliment someone's car, and it clearly blew up. My point was "I Love the Ancona Blue" (FULL STOP) Then, as a second point, I personally love the Ford "Tangerine Scream" color(which is NOT a 914 color), but think it would look great on a 914. Sorry about the confusion, both my ex-wives said I had problems expressing myself....apparently they were correct

As for favorite 914 colors, I didn't choose it and I hear you aren't supposed to admit to liking red cars, but some cars in red work for me (thankfully).

wasn't my favorite when dad picked it up, but after 46+ years Saturn Yellow has grown on me. Pic also shows how small we are.
