Something screwy here. If someone knows details about a car theft they should call the police instead of baiting a possible owner. Perhaps this is some sort of revenge post where the CL user is using the cops to stir the pot.

Definitely something screwy going on here. I'd agree contacting the police would be the proper way to proceed.
