My gas gauge works when you turn the key to run but when you start the engine and the key is released it goes to full scale. New sender and refurbished gauge.

Also a new ignition switch and wire loom in the steering column. Any advice on trouble shooting is appreciated.

It might be due to a faulty ground connection somewhere but that is just a guess. If the gauge is going to the full mark then it is getting full current from somewhere.

Does the low fuel level light still work correctly?

you may want to compare the fuel sender wire connections. The picture is of a 1973 fuel sender connection so it might be a little different than the 1975 sender connections.
