Hi Gang,
open up my engine lid and suprise suprise..found the broken v belt....is replacing the belt something i can do myself? or do i need to take it to a mechanic?
and how does the procedure go?
thank
remove the coil wire, put the belt around both pulleys the best you can and then bump the starter, it will pop right on. Then put your coil wire back on so the car will start. That is how I do it. Otherwise, the correct way is to loesen the allen head adjustment screw and move the alternator inwards and install the belt and then tighten it up applying pressure to the alternator to the right tension. Takes about 15 mintes or so.
I do what he does, but I roll the car in gear, so it's not like all hell breaking (uhoh) loose in there.
