Love Canepa, love this track, really loved this race. From 35th place to... Well it's worth a watch. Might want to skip the first 3 minutes:

Awesome! the other cars fade away in the rearview so fast. And the 935 had manual steer? The wheel just doesn't seem as choppy as some other 911 or 914's that I have seen.

yep! manual steering rack. And they aint cheap

Nice video!

Just so nice to see the old cars truly driven in anger. Not many do the 935s, 917s, etc justice anymore—but Bruce Canepa is one of the few who do. Gijs van Lennep is another, with a run in the yellow Sandeman 917K at Laguna a few years ago that was like teleporting back to 1970-1971. I'll never forget the sight and sound of that car going over the hill on its way to T2. Bruce has always been a bit of a showman at the Historics, often preferring to start from the back and come through the field twice on his way to a battle for the lead. It's his home track, and he's plenty at home there. He's also the original owner of that 935, and you can be sure it is dialed. He doesn't mind fixing body damage from a little rubbin', either…
