914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Mid-Atlantic Okteenerfest Caravan?

Posted by: BillC Aug 14 2017, 02:40 PM

So....

Okteenerfest is only a month away! I noticed there are some folks that are north and east of us, all going to Okteenerfest. Is anyone interested in doing a caravan down there? It should be fun, and there's strength in numbers.

From my house, it's about a 10-hour drive to the hotel.

I'd like to leave my house bright-and-early on the morning of the 14th.

If anyone is interested, folks could possibly stay at my house on the evening of the 13th. Although, it might require air mattresses and sleeping bags, depending on how many people stay here.

I'm interested and I think Dave914 is too. I'm all for leaving early. I usually leave at 3am for my trips to NC. Got to make it past D.C. Before everyone wakes up.

I'm afraid I have to bow out on Okteenerfest. Work has gotten in the way. Really disappointed.

That's why I actually leave the evening before if not the day before. Besides, I can then get there early without having to push too hard on driving.gif

Well, I'm open to suggestions. I only started this caravan thread because no one else had, and I didn't want to wait until the last moment to set something up.

If we decide to leave the evening of the 13th, we'll have to get a hotel somewhere along the way. I really don't feel like driving all night long (and neither will my wife). Would we want to make reservations or just try to find something when we get tired?

BTW, if anyone along the way wants to join in the caravan, just let us know and we'll make it work.

Bump.

Only two weeks left! piratenanner.gif

Anyone else besides Mark and me interested in caravanning down to Okteenerfest from the NorthEast/MidAtlantic area?

Bump. One week from tomorrow.

The local weather forecast is putting rain from Irma in our area Tuesday or Wednesday. So, with that in mind, we'll probably be leaving early Thursday morning. Currently looking at taking the "inland" route (I66 to I81, etc.), to avoid the more-likely paths Irma might take.

Assuming, of course, that Helen, GA is still there after the storm passes.... blink.gif
