UPDATE 1/5/2017:

I was contacted by a URO rep who sent me 2 new in the bag. Put both thru my 'video test' rig and they worked like factory, with RUN staying on during the whole START motion. They have a white paint dot instead of the green Sharpie dot, so maybe something changed along the line confused24.gif

Excellent vid. Which shows it's pointless to use anything but an original, can't speak for the earlier years but the later ones are still available from Porsche...

URO is Chinese for POS.

There are several brands of these that are bad. Had a customer drop one from the height of the steering column to the carpet floor and is broke in tow and scattered all of the parts. He them chose the $40 original Porsche. Yes Uro is crap along with most other $5 and $10 ignition switches.

Quality parts at a reasonable price will always be in demand over cheap junk parts. You get what you pay for.

Chinese quality control agents are standing by.....

What URO is making $hit parts????
They are making more and more and getting into the supply chain. So yes, go to rock auto, and even your local parts house. You can now get parts for your 914! only you'll be back to buy more in short order. That's if they work to begin with.
Ya do get what you pay for.

My pics of an aftermarket switch do not show the green dot...I carry aftermarket with me just in case but went with an OEM replacement installed.
