"PORSCHE RENNSPORT REUNION VI TICKETS GO ON SALE OCTOBER 18
The world’s largest gathering of Porsche race cars and drivers to return to the Monterey Peninsula

Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca today announced the next Porsche Rennsport Reunion will take place at the famed California race track in 2018. The upcoming Family Reunion has been expanded to four days and will be held September 27-30, 2018.

See: https://oss.ticketmaster.com/aps/mrls/EN/buy/quickbuy/223

In what has become a tradition, Rennsport Reunion VI will bring together an extraordinary gathering of significant Porsche race cars, as well as those who have designed, engineered, and driven them to victory in the world’s most famous sports car races. Hosted by PCNA, the four-day program of on-track competition will be complemented by a Concours d’Elegance, which is open to invited race participants.

After staging the first three events in the east, with the inaugural at Lime Rock Park in 2001, followed by two events at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida in 2004 and 2007, Rennsport Reunion IV moved west in 2011, tapping into a vast array of west coast car aficionados and Porsche enthusiasts. Returning to a three-year interval, this incomparable event has turned into a world-wide happening.

“Choosing the Monterey Peninsula once again for our unique Porsche family reunion builds upon what we learned from previous Rennsport Reunions,” said Klaus Zellmer, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America. “We had close to 60,000 fans, enthusiasts and owners come through the gates of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca to celebrate with us in 2015, and California’s picturesque central coast provides an ideal backdrop. The Golden State as a whole has always been like a second home to Porsche.”

“We are honored to have been selected once again as the host circuit for Porsche Rennsport Reunion,” said Gill Campbell, of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. “This prestigious event has created a tremendous impact on motorsports around the world in the past and we are eager to bring it back to life again in partnership with Porsche. It is truly the most rewarding event I have ever had the pleasure of being involved in.”

During Porsche Rennsport Reunion V in 2015, over 1,300 Porsche Club of America (PCA) member-owned Porsche models helped fill the show fields, race classes, and parking lots of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca to overflow capacity. For the upcoming sixth rendition, the PCA will once again play an integral role in the festivities.

Participant registration opens December 1, 2017 through February 28, 2018. Tickets will go on sale October 18.

Additional details and ticket information will be published on the Porsche press website (www.press.porsche.com) and on Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca’s website as they become available.

Jim,

The pre-sale for tickets for PCA members starts today. I put up a thread on it in the Garage with a link last night.

For tickets ordered on-line, they will be mailed to you 4 weeks prior to the event. Just got a message from Lisa at Mazda Raceway with that update

If you are thinking of going, book a room now, they are filling up. A number of us booked at the Motel 6 in Marina, others are at the HoJo in Marina. You can also camp at the track....

We are sending these two cars. The flying lizard car looks like a cup car but is actually a 2005 factory built RSR. Took 8th overall at Le Mans.

Planning on it, going to help my buddy out again with his Jagermeister RSR as well as others once he decides what to bring.

Its just a 3 day Porsche orgasm. You could call it a Porgasm.

Posted by: RoadGlue Jan 8 2018, 01:07 PM

I'll be there with a few other members as well.

I have to agree with that statement, one of the best events I have been to at Laguna Seca!

I'll have my 914-6 in the corral again this year, a friend of mine will be driving it since I will drive my Spyder down this time. piratenanner.gif

Has anyone heard anything of the on track parade lap?

IIRC, you purchase parade lap tickets at the Raceway store.
...you may want to hit the first thing upon entering the venue, the line for the store is long. If you enter with a pass for the 914 corral, the store is close by.

Posted by: Manny Alban Jan 8 2018, 06:49 PM

Parade laps will be sold by PCA online only. Probably some time in July. Will only be one day per person so to allow as many people as possible to get a chance to drive Laguna.

Good. Thanks for the update/correction smile.gif

Will it ever come back East?

914 Corral sold out sad.gif

Bought an Overflow Corral ticket instead. Thinking of taking the twins as well, just need to figure out the logistics since that would mean the wife would have to drive separately with them.

For those with kids, worth spending the $80 per kid for the flagroom?

FYI: last time at RR V they said the 914 coral sold out too. But it was maybe [
1/2 full.

It’s very likely that they will add space if enough interest is shown for the overflow. it’s still very early in the planning.

Stoking interest.....

Just confirmed reservations at the Lone Oak Lodge. Perfect plan if you are towing a car up.

Doesn't look like I'll have the new motor in for this one.

This event draws people from outside the US too; one 914 World member is coming from Singapore.... smile.gif

I’ve got a spot to camp with my trailer. It’s a fun event that’s worth the trip.

I quess we can all arrange some type of "rally point" before that week. It is such a big event and there is so much to see I get caught up in it all. Love the top of the Corkscrew to watch the races though.

Should be fun as it always is.

We got our Airbnb confirmed today. We'll be at the track Friday/Saturday and hope to see everyone there.

Is there going to be a group meetup either track side or in town on one of the evenings?

Posted by: GeorgeRud Mar 29 2018, 12:52 PM

Maybe as the event gets closer and more of the schedule is available, a meeting point and time could be arranged. The Picnic tables in the paddock (by the beer tent and Porsche Goodie store) were centrally located, but there’s so much too see, you don’t want to give up any of it.

How much is a vendor tent? We could convert one into a 914world CSOB beer garden.

Posted by: GeorgeRud Mar 30 2018, 09:16 AM

I’m sure Marty at MSDS will have a booth again and could give you an idea of prices, but they might have restrictions on alcohol sales/consumption along the vendor’s row. Marty was quite hospitable to 914World members at the last Rennsport, so it’s worthwhile to visit and say “Hi” if he’s there again this year.
