How do you remove the passengers seat back to have it re-upholstered.

Do you have to remove the whole seat shell?

Yes. Here's a good writeup. Search is your friend. Just use google and include "914world".

I've reupholstered two sets. The headrest is the trickiest part to get right. You'll also need some open-celled foam to make up for the loss in thickness on the bolsters... good luck with the project!

What year 914? The 70-71 cars have a fixed passenger's seat, and the seat back is part of the back-pad. The 72+ cars have a moveable passenger's seat which is very easy to remove.
