Q. Do the front bearing caps (domes) have a rubber seal gasket that goes on first? If so what is the part number and where to find. seal only that is. Checked various suppliers with no luck.

Found it no real information other than it exists. I do recall it now. It was basically an o ring.
Should be an ace hardware part

I wouldn’t mind an O ring for the 911 front hub. Paying $2.50 for them gets old.

only /4 use this 421.839.455, but the parts book has it part of the /6 assembly.
Absorbent foam rubber, used to pick up the grease slung passed the cap.
NLA years ago.

My recollection is that it was a standard rubber O ring. If it is other I can still do, just might as well make it the same or better. If I recall it just sat on the base of the cap to deter crap from getting in.

It was not hard rubber.
I was softer .....and it had a seam.
Haven't seen one in years.
I fit behind the rim of the grease cap.

Squashed between cap and drum section of the brake disk.
Very soft material, I may have old used examples I kept for posterity.

Well I know a guy that makes rubber stuff.
Just curious if the new reproduction caps have the same ridge. I'm doubting it. But please post up some pics.

Can you measure the thickest part? I think these could be easily made.

3 mm would be a good guess. It is kind of a foamy rubber material if that matters. I would be more than happy to send them to you for your archival R & D division. . Headed to the trash otherwise.

Ok found mine, 3 old ones and a new one that broke while trying to fit it, old stock adhesive gave up.

4 mm cross section 153 mm long, it is made of foam rubber with a smooth surface, older ones have grease residue. New is smooth and clean.
