Rube Goldberg?
Since you didn't provide a good shot of the pump itself, I can't ask our waterpump expert what pump it is.
It looks similar to some marine setups I have seen, but the aluminum throws me as most of them were cast iron (disintegrate slower in salt water than aluminum).
Answer on Tuesday if no one else knows.
here's a Renegade pump. teh tolerances between the pump impeller and teh housing are very tight

is this also big block Chrysler?
the impeller blades are only 2/3 the dia of the inside cavity of the housing

it has less blades than the renegade

Well, MJM Engineering doesn't seem to exist on the net, 'cept for a company of design engineers, but on further search:
M J M Auto Parts Inc Marine Exhaust Systems of Al
Buhl Fairhope
Turbochargers- New & Rebuilt Marine Engine Components
The baffle on the back of the impeller blades is designed to reduce the cavitation (water bypass) of the impeller blades, hence the less critical distance between the impeller blades and back housing.
I'm with Slits..
That is a marine pump that why the impeeler is so small for the housing a boat does not need the flow of a car because of the constant supply of cool water. I've seen some of the aluminum housings used on inboard boats that looked just like that.
Bob
Skline just replaced his and i think he said it was a Chrysler 440
PM him or Steve S (type4parts)
the rayco looks like a boat
Joe is correct....The Renegade uses a Chry 440 Big Block pump. Any local FLAPS will have it. While the original had a cast iron impeller, the newer ("G"s..ornamental in manufacture) use a stamped steel impeller...cheap casting, cheap manufacture.
Sean,
That housing looks like the Simpson, the big elbow is fabricated and the x bracket is a mystery. Not sure of the pump but here's my old Simpson and new Renegade. Quite a variation in design features. I got part numbers from Scott but don't know which numbers belong to which impeller. That disc is sold to help flow, don't know if it works.
