914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Grease or Lube on CV and steering rack boots?

Posted by: stugray Jan 13 2018, 06:00 PM

I am putting in a set of turbo tie rods and the boots have that white oxidized rubber look and I was going to wipe them with something before I put them on.

I have oil, grease (various), silicone, and glycerin.

I overthink everything, but I seem to recall some rubbers hate certain treatments like silicone.

Im going to replace the CV boots soon too, so what's best for them?

What do you use?

If I'm not mistaken glycerin will make the rubber supple again.

Rubber hates oil and grease
