The holes you have to drill for installation will not be temporary. dry.gif

I guess I have an ugly duckling mirror set too. Came installed on my '72 and the first thing I noticed was that the mounting set up is totally different than the originals. Oh Well...least of my troubles with this car.

Looks like 2nd generation Camaro. Even the Chevy guys don't like them.

A lot of times, when we get our first 914, we have NO clue as to the mirror type. I remember getting mine really starting to look nice (buffed out the tires, new interior, wrap job) and took it to my mechanic, who's an old school 914 guy.

After telling me how nice he thought my car looked, he adds "Lose the F&$*ing mirrors".

Sorry, those remind me of cheap auto parts store mirror back in the 80's. Not a good look for a 914 at all. Please swap them out as soon as possible.

moost....

Did you see these forsale...Baby Turbos
similar look to the later 911,944 etc
not too bad for a 914 if you want larger temporary mirrors

Almost all aftermarket (non Porsche) mirrors need to be put in a big pile and set on fire.

(Or, send them to Cuba)

Larmo63 I agree.. but for some reason a few folks just like the big ole flag things...

A Durant or Talbots is the only thing that may look as good as the original mirrors

Like on this 914-8

I have used these in the past as temporary fitment because they have adjustable slots in the base and fit most existing mounts on the 911 and 914. they are inexpensive and minimalist giving a semi stock appearance, and at 11 buck you can throw it in the trash when you have a permanent solution.

They aren’t Vitalonis.

I have a set on my 240Z.

Make me an offer + shipping and write me a short essay explaining why you would do that to a 914... blink.gif

I always thought the Toranado mirrors looked good. I've even seen ones that were partially painted body color, which I also thought looked good.

they look a lot like ford Pinto mirrors

had a set of 'em long ago - forget what they ended up on

get 'em on ebay

My dad had those mirrors on his 66 Toronado and then a 66 LeMans in the early seventies. They were definitely an aftermarket item. Maybe from JC Whitney... I still like them on 60's and 70's vintage American cars. I prefer stock 914 mirrors or VItaloni baby tornados, or 911 flag mirrors for a more vintage look. Never liked Mustang mirrors (for Larmo)

Not baby turbos. Baby tornados.! I have baby turbos on my car. Love them. Near the same size as stock, uses original holes, but require some modification to set level
