That cool app or whatever called the 914 Visualizer that allowed you to make different color changes, wheels, etc to see what they looked like.

Does this still exist anymore?

Hey, everybody, this is Nathan, creator of the visualizer.

I had been domain parking the old site on a new name for about a year, the old url expired, and I didn't renew it.

So the visualizer is still up, at the new url:

You need Adobe Flash installed for it to work.

Interestingly, Google Chrome will prompt for flash while Firefox just gives you a blank page with no indication of what is needed.

That's super cool. This is about as close as I can get to my planned new look i.e. 914R v5 or so... No options for tangerine flares, 911R lights or rear valance delete

No valance on mine. Might be the muffler choice.
The stock metallic blue was very green but there is a custom option for color and gloss. Very cool.

I've been working on updating the visualizer site, and I think it's ready to share.

I started around September last year, and I've been working on it on and off. I'd started getting "flash is going to not work anymore" notifications in my browser, and I'd always wanted to do an html version.

While I was at it, probably every part of it got refined and polished, so I hope it is looking better. Revamping the bitmaps to look slicker, fit better, as well as adding new features, refining the interface, I also tried to refine the colors, though some may still be off. You can, using the secondary color "link" feature, make any aspect of the car any color, rather than only having a primary and secondary color as before.

The gallery got a major overhaul to where it actually works. I added a login feature, so cars you make and then save to the gallery go to your garage. You can also delete cars that you've made, or choose any other saved car, modify it if you like, and save it to your garage. There's a cool feature where you can sort cars in the gallery by feature to see only cars that have a specific feature.

The list of changes is really long actually, but there is now an option to go wide body, custom color license plates, french spec tail light lenses, colored mirrors, window tint in black or mirrored, trunk hold downs, a rear diffuser, a gigantic spoiler and a racing stripe. beer2:

I forgot to mention that it works on mobile also, saw like 35% were using mobile actually. It works better in landscape, but I built both a landscape and portrait mode for mobile.

If you find a pic with the perfect perspective, and save 2 images to the gallery using the scale and position of the car which it saves, you can make it animate between I think if you open this gif in a new window it'll animate....

It's yearly. I use the site for stuff like hosting my design portfolio, or test versions of sites when I do freelance stuff, but there are subdomains for the visualizer, and there's also a subdomain "slicedbread" that houses a pretty sweet VW bus parts finder site that I built.

My initial reaction "don't need help from anyone" I'm like well maybe that would be helpful..

I'm trying to do some work in my studio, putting in a proper bathroom and a bunch of improvement stuff, which is why I'm kind of tight in the first place. But to keep moving forward on that, the $100 yearly hosting puts a dent in what's left of this paycheck after the rent (now 9 days overdue) comes out..

I will put this here... I'd set this up as a test when I was building streams/Twitch channels for some freelance work a few years ago. ...think this will work here

I was able to buy a bathroom fan — which seems like no biggie, but it was the piece that I needed to do the ceiling insulation and drywall which I'd got already, and it'll allow me to keep going after the floors are done.
