Changing oil after car has sat for 30 yrs. I have some APCO synthetic graphite 10-40 oil. Should I use it in the crankcase?

Also, two hoses are coming from the oil strainer cap. Not sure where they go. (Up). Nut is stripped on strainer. Can I remove hoses? they appear to be vents for emission control.

Graphite? No, not something you want in your engine generally speaking.

What are you calling the strainer? If it's on the bottom of the engine, the nut being stripped is a super bad thing. Possibly "replace the crankcase" bad, if things are bad enough.

Take a picture of the strainer and post it here.
