[Hi folks

I recently sold a pair of Koni yellows here on the classifieds. Worked great, thanks!

They were not mine, a 914 racer in north Atlanta had let me use them to see if they would fit my old 911. I met him at Automobile Scamlanta swap meet a year or so ago.

I cant find his contact info???? and I want to give him his money, he asked me to sell them if they did not fit.

TIA ewlombard.....]

This is what the club is about and the type of members we have here. All is not lost. Most of us can ship, hand off or lend tools and or parts with no worries...This guy went out of his way to find who gave him parts, me , and handle business....

I wasn't even concern what happened to the parts I was happy if they went to good use... Lets not one bad ONION spoil the trust and goodwill thats been going on here..

That same spirit was working on a set of springs I believe.....etc...etc...

Amen brother. The 914 community has supported, advised and inspired me from day one. The RATS who want to rip off our brothers and sisters deserve to reap what they sow. spank.gif

I would like to nominate Paul Brun for the 914 Community Person of the year. He went out of his way to get a set of chrome bumpers for me after the original seller flaked. Paul called me and asked if I would like him to get them for me, I said sure if not to much trouble. He actually paid for them, and he doesn't know me from Adam. He shipped them on his dime and waited for me to reimburse him.
That is what the 914 community is about. Sorry Paul I have to tell them He doesn't own a 914 yet. CCLINCOMMUNTIYOFPEOPLE

Great thread! There are too many care-givers here to name, although... let's try.

Slits (Ron, I love ya!) knew me from nothing. When I was in the deepest shit with my new car, he just offered to walk through hell with me, and did everything on the other end.. and screws himself with kindness.. Ron, I can't thank you enough. I hope I can make it up to you somehow.

Besides that time/material help, this place is Park Ave. therapy, at Ave. D prices.

Thanks Andy.

I look forward to seeing you all everyday.

Well if he doesn't have a 914 he's kissing up to the right guy laugh.gif
j/k of course, I remember that thread with the off-again / on-again bumpers and how it turned out. Sounds like a stand-up guy and I'm glad that he's local.

I recently sold a bunch of parts in the classifieds and all transactions went smooth.* The biggest problem I had was estimating shipping on oversized items. In some cases I just shipped the item(s) and let the buyer make up the difference if they wanted. Other times I just ate the difference because (1) it was a small amount, (2) I'm the one who screwed up the estimate, and (3) I was money ahead anyway because I was selling stuff that had just been collecting dust for years.

So long story short, we have a good group of people here and I think that's why we get so bent out of shape when one of us gets screwed, because it's not who we are.

I've heard a lot of amazing reports about what 914club people have done for each other. I'm happy to be a part of a club where people go beyond the call to help each other out, and I look forward to the next time I can help another clubber.

Every once in a while we hear a story about a loser hosing someone, but it doesn't take long before they are exposed and the rest of the club comes to support the honest people. The club is strong and the weeds will not survive in a healthy community like this. It will only get better.

Thanks for the good reports.

They get cars for people. They get poeple out of jail and they pray and monetarily help those who are in need. They send parts to those in need and they offer advice all day long. All bound by a quirkly little car that no manufacturer wants to call it's own. This is why we get so vile when one of our own gets taken advantage of by someone who is morally challenged.

Great thread. Great club.

P.S. Speaking of which, Erik... I sent you a PM and I'm ready to send you some money wink.gif

Posted by: mike_the_man Jun 4 2005, 02:16 PM

I agree! Never had a problem with anybody on the club, and have had more people that don't know me go out of their way for me than I could ever imagine. I owe several of you big time! The daily acts of kindness on here amaze me. Just one of the many things that makes me a 914Club addict.

wayne we thank you and Easton is going to thank you. We have desicided to turn the money over to the the new fund... I told the guy who sold them to keep half and turn the rest over to a charity and he also bumped his half.

Miles: You're wearing leopard skin tights, flip flops and a pink tutu. Remind me to turn off that camera - some things just aren't meant to be seen. biggrin.gif

Goat Boy: I didn't get the PM but feel free to sent the money anyway........unless there is another Erik (spelled the proper way with a "k") that you are referring to. wink.gif

You know I have had issues with one person - made it public after a year.

The real side is that almost everyone lives up to the motto

'my word is my bond'

99.98% of the time.

help-outs happen behind the scene all the time. if everyone of them were posted the front page would be covered with them.

I agree, 99% of the club members are GREAT! I've had two purchases online here where the sellers shipped the items BEFORE they had my money. (It just worked out that way!)

One was Spunone's AWESOME billet oil filler neck.

The other was an engine lid from Al Meredith.

I've had several other great transactions with members, but these guys went above and beyond by shipping prior to receiving paymnet. My hat is off to both of these guys for being the ideal that the 914 Club would like representing them. I would like to thank both of them for a great transaction.

Now, that being said, I'm sure everybody selling things would like to actually receive payment! So, if you are primarily the buyer (like me) be sure to do your part and send a prompt payment!

Kevin, you're right of course, and don't want to clutter the site. But try this.
Rich Herzog took a 4hour round trip today to do a PPI and take photos. Whatta Guy! smilie_pokal.gif

Posted by: merrill Jun 5 2005, 04:05 PM

Rich was probably using the PPI as an excuse to get out of his honey-do list laugh.gif

Posted by: ArtechnikA Jun 5 2005, 05:21 PM

one never "gets out of" the honey-do list, especially when one's honey is in the same car all day, going to the PPI and then to the big 356 midAtlantic picnic. the items on the honey-do list merely get deferred to another day...

but it was a beautiful day for a drive in the PA countryside. if i'd felt better about the 911's clutch we mightta taken that, dropped the top, and had a cruise, but i need to hang onto what little is left until i can do the Subie engine swap and get the car in for its 2,7 transplant. and it was a bit of a drive, so having the big(ger) car with the cruise control and the AC (87F, 80% humidity) was nice.

I visited with Al, and got some emergency pedal cluster parts, he's a great guy, and a knowledgeable 914 guy, in Atlanta.

Speaking of which...

McMark: Thanks a ton...got it today!

Matt, thanks for the kind words. I had a problem with someone in California who once worked for Pelican Parts I sent the money and in three months never got the goods. I phoned and emailed the individual many times. Finally I emailed PP and Wayne Dempsey, himself, emailed me back and called my cell phone to offer help. The post I made on PP had 3000 hits and the transaction was complete the next week. This dot com thing works well. Al
