random hardware failures that halt the system, getting more frequent in the last few weeks ...
time for that new server, should be here within a week ...
Andy
Hopefully it has linux on it.
I've noticed that every now and then the board seems to go down. It'll be good to have a new server! Thanks for everything you do Andy. It's much appreciated!

naaa, i'd rather have a *real* operating system instead ... Andy PS: i'm not sure how long you have been on here, but we did have a server running linux for quite a while (a year or so) until the box maxed out and couldn't handle the load no more ... wen't back to a (now dying) windooze box and never looked back ... |
I had a eval of 2003 .NET.....it was pretty cool i must admit, but I'm using Windows 2000 Advanced Server for my file server needs. i like having appletalk compatability in win2000 too.
i use debian on my ppro system
but i also like windows 2000 stuff....been a while since i messed with it, i had to re-teach myself how to create a domain and create roming profiles and stuff..

Now let's be fair Andy. |

you're right ... just like the current problems are not windooze problems but rather hardware problems with the box itself. Andy PS: it's going to be "Windows 2000 Advanced Server" ... |
