914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Not tooting my own horn

Posted by: worn May 6 2018, 06:11 PM

Hi folks. It may not help, but I figure the horn is a last ditch method of avoiding a collision. But my ‘72 horn wire in the steering column has no continuity with the relay. I have had the whole works out of the car but I don’t remember how it is routed. Does the wire go continuously to the relay or maybe there are connections? Any help will be appreciated. Power to the relay works, the horns can be driven by shorting the relay, still no connection between any relay pin and the wire to the switch. So of course grounding the switch gives nada.

Per the wire diagram it is continuous straight to the horn relay (terminal 85).
Brown wire with white stripe.

The switch provides a ground for the relay engagement circuit.

Thanks. Must be either a break or failure at a connector. Wish it was simpler.
