So before I try and damage something, what's the best way to extract this seal?
Also I assume that's a sealing washer on top and cannot be reused?
A pick will do it.
I have the seals if you need them. The seal yes replace. The aluminum washer you can reuse if it's not damaged.
The "new" part with all the seals is $65 if you want one. It has an extra seal so it will not leak.

It might be too big or overkill for removing this particular seal, but a puller like this Old Forge 7019 (available on Amazon) is a handy tool for getting seals out of smaller bores.

I use a cheap set of dental picks, $0.99-2 at harbor freight. Easy and cheap to replace. Oddly enough, the 914 transmission seal kits do not come with this seal, but do come with the O ring. The 911/912 kits come with both o ring and seal.
Hey, I just say you are in San Diego. Ill be in town this week into next. I can see if I can find a spare and bring it with me if you want.
Thanks for all the input guys.
I've already got a couple seals on order, but appreciate the offer Dr. Evil.
