914World.com _ 914World Garage _ LUISI Early 914 hub for Momo etc.

We all know the challenge (and expense) of finding a Momo 8000. I want to run a Momo in my '71. So I was pretty stoked when I found this:

Trouble is, the signal cancel ring covers the horn contact hole. Anyone have experience with this Luisi hub? I'm thinking it may be mislabeled by the seller, and actually fits a later car, but I don't know enough about the later cars. Seller reports that Luisi says its should work, but I don't see how.

I'm getting to the point where I may just make a run of early hubs just so I can have one in my own car.

The Luisi I had on the race car did not use the same bolt pattern as Momo: http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=305380&hl=

You can adapt it with the OMP extender; it has both patterns.

The problem isn't the bolt pattern. Momo fits fine on this Luisi. It's the horn contact pin that's in the wrong place. Unless I'm misunderstanding your response...

Can you drill a hole in the signal cancel ring to match the horn contact hole? Seems like the simplest solution.

Had exactly the same thought as Bill.

I'm amazed that this part fits the ultra rare 1967 914. confused24.gif

Can you just use the cancel ring from your original hub.

The problem is the position of the hole. It doesn't fall over the brass ring on the steering column. So even it I drilled the cancel ring, the horn contact pin wouldn't touch the brass ring. Does anyone know if the brass ring on later cars is smaller diameter? That would explain this hub.

Yeah, the 1967 label is what makes me think this hub is mismarketed.
