914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Transmission rebuild DVDs

Posted by: Dr Evil Jun 13 2018, 07:32 PM

After a long battle with PC, DVD, and multiple burners, moving and thus misplacing power cables, and general annoyances, I looked into a multi disk burner......boy do I feel dumb. I go a 5 disk, no computer needed, stand alone that will run off better copies, faster and for only$260 shipped. If I would have known that I would have done this long ago. Anyway, these last two weeks I have had at least 10 people want to buy a copy and I was out. That would mostly cover the burner. Who wants a copy? I should be able to have these done in about a week. $35 shipped for the set in the US, outside the US please contact me directly for shipping additions.
PayPal makemy914go@yahoo.com
Make sure address is in the order!
International purchase contact me first before PayPal, please.

Just curious....

Have you considered a direct download to the end user instead of buring disks?
Still worth $35 to me and would save you some time and postage.
If someone wants one and you have a verified payment then just send them a link.

I will take one Dr.

Thanks!

Mike:
I went to your SoCal Clinic and really enjoyed it and want to thank you again for all your help in refreshing the side shift transmission that I am going to put in my 1970 Porsche 914.

I am in for one of your DVD's. Please let know if you want payment by Paypal, a check or a money order.
Thanks,
Mike Devereaux

Yes. It’s not as simple as that. It two disks. Main issue is that none of the options I am finding fit. Hosting, etc will add more cost. Uploading to some places gives them ownership (YouTube). Making it private and selling links leads to easy piracy, or I’d have to manage the passwords and make them expire. Not worth it. This is beer money for me and a service I offer. So far, be easy, inexpensive way to have it for sale for download on my site (when I get a site up). Currently, I just use FaceBook for keeping folks up to date on my EvilWerks stuff. Don’t want a fancy site, ever. Simple, easy, that’s the 914 way, right? wink.gif

Consequently, for over seas members, particularly Australia, I’ve had an agreement with them that they can just burn a copy and send me $20. Faster and cheaper. It’s been a while, they all may have it now.

Ha, ha, laugh.gif

I agree. Time for a new run of T-shirts. I have used mine for years as part of my winter/cold weather early morning walking outfit. It's still in good shape. I layer it with a long sleeve tee from MulsanneCorner , http://www.mulsannescorner.com/ . Old habits die hard.

Oh, my wife still wears hers for yard work. laugh.gif

Shirts are tame. Second iteration is just the logo on the back as my avatar. I can look into getting a run done. We have members here that do them. Maybe I will hit up Jaimie. Flattered that they are still an item smile.gif I have patches, too.

Krusty has patches too. I use this in lectures to explain how not to use nitroglycerin patches.

Cool, looks like I should be pretty busy on Sun. Ill burn some extras, of course. I tended to sell about 2-3 a month without advertising, just word of mouth. Kinda cool. Also, copies have gone to many countries and most continents (not the Artic or Antarctic, not sure why).

Holy crap! I just collated the orders and there are 29, and two international to NZ and UK. I was doing this while burning disk 1, and did 20 copies, QC a few every run. New windows machines suck. I used to put the DVD in and it would just play. Now, there is no DVD player so you need external, and there is no software that comes on the machine, you have to download some. The one I have works, and I think it is free "fast player for DVD'. But, it is not reading the copies correct in that it plays it all the way through rather than giving option of "play all" or "select chapters." I will be looking into finding and hooking up my DVD to see if it works in that as supposed to. Ill finish up the 20 copies of Disk 2 that I am making in the interim.

Only one person didnt send me their address with payment, or separately, that I could find - Chris Campbell, please send me your address.

Also, in keeping with the everything seems to have at least one damn problem, I bought the 5 disk burner.....one of the burners doesnt work. I will return this one once I fulfill the current orders and get a fully functional one. 4/5 is better than 0/5.

For a player I use "MPC-HC x64" (media player classic). Basically a modified and updated old style windows media player. VLC is kinda awkward to use, same as new WMP.

What's in your video that's not covered by the common repair manuals?

There are some techniques and further explanation on things. A two DVD set far surpasses the limited info in the manuals. Many people, myself included, have a hard time reading the manuals and making sense of them. We just are not those kind of learners. Once I was shown what was going on inside the gearbox, the kinesthetics of it, it made immediate sense. This is also why the clinics that I hold are successful.

For more info on learning types, a quick search turned up this little bit of clearly stated info: https://blog.prezi.com/the-four-different-types-of-learners-and-what-they-mean-to-your-presentations-infographic/

First 20 shipping today. Girlfriend is at PO getting them out. IF you find issues with playability, PM me. I did do QC, but cant watch all 40 disks in duration. I will burn 40 more disks and then send the burner back for a fully functional one. This should buffer demand for the foreseeable future.

Nope. Eric Shea is my good friend, but if he has a DVD, it’s all from him. I don’t produce or direct, that was Cupomeat all the way.
