I ordered a reproduction LE front spoiler for my 75 with big ugly bumpers. I asked the seller if I can mount it without modification and he said yes. Is this true?
It should fit no problem. I have the 914rubber LE spoiler. I had to drill 4 holes in the spoiler, but it was super easy to mark and drill. I bought some stainless hardware at ACE for mounting. For the end holes I bought a black rubber stopper and drilled a hole in it. I cut it down to the right height to make a flex bushing. I only had one old bushing and it was hard and cracked.
Fits even better with back dated bumpers........
Yep no problem. Even enough clearance for my tow mount.

Depends who you bought it from. I bought one years ago that fit like crap. A couple of the top mounting tabs missed the factory holes entirely. It was so splayed out on the both ends it almost cracked pushing them in to line up with the body. Total POS. It was the 'deluxe' version. Not the 'economy' one. That's a clue if you go thru your old paper catalogs. Oversized box and the return was around $60 (on me) plus a restocking fee. I cut it up and put it in the garbage. The delivery $, the return and restock $ was more than the cost of the part.
IMHO an LE spoiler is a bit of a waste on a car with later bumpers. Harder to see the LE. I've got one sitting in my garage that I'll put on when I eventually backdate the bumpers.
I don't think the LE spoiler looks bad at all with the late model bumpers

It does actually help with cooling too.
My 76 came with a factory LE front valance. Great but there was a bad crack and a piece missing from it. I just put on one of the guys FG front piece and the fit was fine.
