914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Well this is weird (clutch related)

Posted by: Tdskip Jun 16 2018, 05:45 PM

Went to pull the clutch off the new to me low mile 2 L engine and the pressure plate bolts don't allow a socket to fit securely on them.

Is this normal, or is my "fun" with this engine about to start in earnest?

So not necessarily indicative of anything wrong? All of the tutorials I found via searching just used a socket without issue.

Thanks!

Jesus God, that's a Fat Crows Foot! And the Mlinder is correct. A thin wall socket or line wrench will also work. They shouldn't be very tight. beerchug.gif
