914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Me thinks me tranny is going south

Posted by: Mark Henry Jun 13 2005, 05:15 AM

The tranny was making what I thought was bad CV noises....my one (right) output shaft is moving a good 1/2 inch in/out when I pull on it.

Not worried as I have 3 spares, should I replace it now or let it fail...what happens when one fails like this?

What has broke? Is it worth fixing...as in is there a quick fix?

In an out is cool sheeplove.gif axles have to change length as the wheel goes up and down.
side to side is the dangerous direction.

UNLESS you are talking about the output hub flange coimng out of the trans. then it's your bolt backing out.

Yep

Is there a bolt under the CV or a circlip?
