914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Targa to fuzzy seal

Hi guys,
I have a question about the installation of the rear targa top fuzzy seal. I got the latest fuzzy seal from 914rubber. It looks nice but it is different from the original, it is wider.
So when I lay it where it is supposed to be on the top and I line up the edge of the seal with the lip on the top as shown below, the part of the seal that has the fuzzy part sticks out about 5/16" beyond the back of the lip on the targa top as shown on the second photo. Can some tell me if this is the correct way to install it? Or am I suppose to line up the fuzzy part with the back of the lip on the targa top and then trip the rubber part of the seal?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill.

I believe you have the right idea. 914 Rubber supplies a little extra length on some seals. So lining it up with the back edge and trimming the side pieces to fit should do the trick. I plan to do the same in a few days.
